Changes in PMR English Language Paper

I would like to share the latest circular [ KP.LP. ] issued by the Ministry of Education pertaining to the PMR English Language paper. Starting next year, English Literature Component would no longer be tested in Paper 1 (12/1) but would be assessed in Paper 2 (12/2) in form of open-ended questions (poem) and open response with textual evidence (novel). No more MCQs. Short stories will not be tested.

For further details, please refer to the enclosed circular.

Thanks for the info! I wonder why short stories are not tested...

You're welcome. I'm not sure of the reason but we still need to teach short stories and drama to our students.

hi Nor Fadzleen
do u have any idea which of the poems will be tested? will it be the poems in F3 or all of the poems enlisted in F1 to F3?

short stories, drama and graphic novels wouldn't be tested...i know, coz the idea is to let students enjoy literature. only the F3 novel will be tested.
